Umlauts in WordPress Blog switch

. wordpress-umlaute.jpg Well, done. The problem is well known: you have installed some years ago the blog at the then current Western European character set iso-8859-1 (thus beautifully worked out the word "men's blog," etc. in the feeds), but there piece by piece, the other Blogs on the comprehensive UTF-8 are switched, came increasingly using external information (trackbacks, external feeds) as a small salad umlaut mark here. But since there is not enough to convert your WordPress blog in the settings to UTF-8, but they also all previous posts and comments in the database "umnudeln" must be pushed beyond the matter. Vacationing had to serve now - and it seems to work! A small script has done the thing into the database quickly. Only some of my widgets went over Jordan (who lost their settings), but they were so quickly re-established.
