Men are smarter than women ...!

"

Und sie dreht sich doch!

Men are more intelligent than women. "This is the title today (in a number of newspapers world , South German , etc.) that relate to an agency report to a British study in which the IQ was examined by 100,000 people. This could lead to some heated discussion at the breakfast table ...
"Ha!" I exclaimed triumphantly, as I took his eyes off of an open newspaper. "Hm," the best of all available female friend asked with mild interest, because they - their honey buns chewing - just has to look through the window into the vastness of our neighbors can wander.
I added: "Men are smarter than women" I spoke with an exclamation point and left the sentence reverberating in the room. Reluctantly, Conny changed the angle of her gaze, so that it now probably caught a piece of my left ear. "Who said that?"
"A study in England has found that," I add, and then lift the edge view of the newspaper in order to observe their reaction more accurately.
"Oh ..." Those were the only words that are wrung Conny's throat as she gulped down a mouthful of coffee and poured after. Then her eyes wandered back to the window behind me. Now I was somewhat disappointed if I'm honest. I doubled the newspaper halfway around so that my face was reproachful now fully visible. "Really? That's all you have to say about it? "A touch of indignation in my voice resonated.
My opposite seemed to hold the moment has come for me to perceive - at least she looked at me right now, though, so ... I felt a certain emptiness in her eyes to lie still. It seemed like they would look right through me. "What do you mean?" She asked, and she was at her that she was making an effort.
"Come on now," I told you something now applied. "Such a headline must upset you that!" She nodded and seemed to be thinking.

Then she asked, "Which title?" Now I was somewhat angry, and laid the paper aside. "Tell me, are you listening to me not?" This time, her answer came without delay: "But of course, honey," but this "treasure" reminded me of the soundtrack tune in to their speeches, they stopped our dog Burschi when she stroked. Anyway, I repeated the line and Conny nodded vigorously. Then she said: ". True," I took a deep breath: "Yeah? How can you say that's true, "Well, she looked puzzled:" But Spatzi "- I did not like it when they called me Spatzi -" it was true but: That was the headline that you have read before, "quietly groaned. I take on. "Man, that's clear. What I want to know: What do you think of such to a statement "?
Conny took another bun, looked at it thoughtfully, then carefully cut it in half and put one half back into the bread basket. While it is a slice of cheese made sure she was fishing, "You want to know if I believe that men are smarter than women?" "Yes," I pressed my lips between tormented by!. "Well, so ..." she cut the cheese slice in half and wondered if they should order these halves on their rolls, "... it depends if you ask me." I waited. But nothing came. Finally I hooked: "On what it depends for. If you had the goodness to tell me that too too? "
"Do not be so aggressive! It all depends on who you have in mind. So for example this Gabi, the new girlfriend of Klaus, could you let the day before yesterday evening, no view, which is clearly stupid. "That was absolute nonsense, of course! These Gabi was an intelligent, outgoing, articulate woman! Although the content of our discussions I was not present in more detail, because I ... but that's beside the point. Anyway, I said:
"But it's still not about individual cases. This refers to the 'woman as such' is! "
Was "Really?" Direction it came from Conny, whose eyes wander to the window really wanted, and only with difficulty from her again directed at me. "The woman 'in itself'? So, I know him not. Who the hell is this? "
"Say, do you understand me very well! If not, I'm beginning to wonder whether or not the report does is right. The woman is the woman in general, the woman in and of itself, the prototype, the first mother, the majority of women. "
"Oh yeah? So first I do not know, but the majority of women ... there is, therefore, that are stupid? "
"Not quite, which can already be quite wise. But many men are just more clever. "
"Is that so? Well, if that is there and when the found out a study, then it will already be so. "
I really desperate now, but it was high time to get ready for the office. Anyway, I made up my mind firmly, Conny give tonight a little help in terms of self-conscious feminist settings. I retired to the bedroom, saw that my shirt had a stain, rooting my watch, saw that I still had to find quickly important documents together and walked into my office to phone the office to give notice that I would come a little later. When I took off, I heard the voice of my breakfast partner who obviously just phoned to Petra, one of their girlfriends:
"And imagine, he's sooo cute when he is upset ... yes, he has ... he's really turned red in the face ... no, if I said it to you, he has not looked ... well ... no, it does not matter I'm not friends with him because of his intelligence ... you know, its true qualities ... I must still go ... and I can lend me after the new issue of Nature from you ... I'll bring you klaro the July issue of Lancet with is already packed ... yes, exactly, in the haploid set of chromosomes ... "
I lay quietly and silently up the phone. On the way to the car, I threw the paper into the trash.

When the women readers actually understand that the statistics of nothing - NOTHING really says about the individual case?

    PISA is everywhere ...

I believe really is not that the British 'outliers' among the publications on gender issue nor a 'narrative of reply' was needed. The published before the mainstream increasingly pervasive stereotypes. And have a doubt different direction: It's been almost two decades, even for die-hard macho men such as Pedro Juan Gutierrez ("Women are smarter"), or an aging movie legend Clint Eastwood ("Women are the stronger man") long, of course, and ' chic 'become relevant generalizations in interviews cheaply herzutragen itself:
Generalizations and biologisms this quality that seemed out of date (in reverse application direction, anyway) been a good 30 years ago as thoroughly, are in the era of Allan and Barbara Pease and thanks d obviously unqualified "opinion-leadership" of the women's magazine editors in all gender issues again opportune.
If you (as the wife ;-) enjoy, to investigate the imbalance of these and similar-biologistic statement formats for essays and book titles on the net, it is clear:
What else but a friendly-submissive Inferioritätsbekenntnis was from a man at this point not to be expected: old school, just - and also later (Zeitgeist) conformism.
while I was this comment 'depose', I hear again a contribution on the radio, confirming once again: are long and men convinced of their extensive biological disadvantage (Steve Jones says hello), flirt with the fact that they speak, 'from utero' not 'multitasking capability' are "not listen so good" or "just do not communicate so well," could
    - And generally nothing perhaps had better apply for an immediate disadvantaged compensation, rather than equal, objective criteria and stiftend intervene in this debate ...
To's to say an older song by Herbert Grönemeyer, "Do you sorry, do you sorry, do you sorry!"
For me, the column is another example of the genre: "Darling, peep-times,-I-understand-hab's
-Got-me-for-love! "Coquetry. But nothing on offense!

So frankly: What did you want to tell us now, I have not really understood. But I'm also a man ;-)

So again gaanz in small steps:

What did you want to tell us now, I have not really understood.

Too bad, it's been mostly German. And what a "(friendly) submissives Inferioritätsbekenntnis" could be, You could easily check if it is not that really opens up: That was a question of fact, your text - and is at least fairly unambiguous.

    [...] We [...]

But what does this 'us': ("If I got it right") then you're probably the author of the hilarious commentary, and thus the recipient of the comment.
So I wanted above all to tell you something.

Wahrscheinl. You've's well understood, otherwise I would not do at the end of your follow your invitation (the "assisted self pity"):

    [...] I (!) You should be sorry!

That you said but at least schonmal doubt my Grönemeyer quote!

    And (: this self-expression):

    ['I raff nothing, because:'] I'm so [...] a man

is the ideal case of an (albeit ironic) "submissive Inferioritätsbekenntnis"
(Then we'd's so clear now inetwa - right? ;-)

Well, what do you mean by your "InferioDingsBums", is still not clear. With due respect: I have neither the time nor, like Google to throw, just because someone else wants to use certain words necessarily, the time is now absolutely not part of everyday communication. A male commentator could stop time just translated the two words - and you're done ...

Well, I do not think it ever again a long 2-part dialogue on a matter that would otherwise not interested. Take the time now simply as a benevolent statement :-)

But the "haploid set of chromosomes" is everyday language ...
    "InferioDings" = "confession of inferiority"
and "submissive" You can get even with "submissive"
(may be the only German Nich pack well behind the other, so d foreign version.) or, if you translate 'submissive'

Of course I'm sympathetic - and even honest:
The story is really well written (and most especially for an amateur journalism - if ever it is)! - And also entertaining: Pretty dramatic, non-slip 'plot'! - Best Everything! (. If I judge may be permitted at all), but it corresponds to the output for my taste (not specifically as a woman!) Too much a PC-proper roles and gender understanding: The narrator (m) do not constitute 'crooked', the punch line makes him a fool: ["he has not looked ... well ... no, it does not matter, I'm not friends with him because of his intelligence ... you know, his qualities ..."].
This is submissive - this is the aforementioned "Clint Eastwood thing"! Somehow currently have all the men apparently feel they have to show that 'understand' them, that they are possibly even better feminist than their wives or Alice S.
The story to me is (only their quintessence ago) too subtle, with expectations adjusted, expectable female friendly - but otherwise quite inventive and well told here as well said! Sorry that I've ever mitgepostet 'belong' here Nich yes 'to the community, have come from a link on google on the side that know things Nich', otherwise you write the Sun Sorry, but I thought spontaneously, if the sides of and for 'all guys' are, what for then please write' wimp 'and' shadow of Parker's stories for the genders Tehma combat and intelligence?

    PS:
It should, of course, 'on' hot in the last sentence, and "Battle of the Sexes" in quotes, of course, in every sense ...

    January 4, 2006

Okay, let's leave that are easy then another. Whether I am a real man or a half or a shadow Parker - that's me really care less. This is so Trendy concepts with which I can not do anything. I just write the way I want and not have to meet a specific role. My blog is as much the same way ... ;-)

I think the story stupid! As the former, I emphasize former, feminist, I think the work around in this story together very stereotypical - is designed - sexual and other important qualities. Belong together.
So I would not want to deal with my partner! At most a joke! Was it a joke?? I think the man has not felt good! It is not right that they end up with her friend about him in terms of gender stereotypes drags.
Such studies are often ideologically biased in some way anyway - what man or woman reintut comes out again and you're done!! It is a result of any investigation to the contrary. One would have to study the conditions and methods reflect more accurately in order to assess whether the outcome is determined in good faith or not. C.
    Ok?
