Firefox start faster

Firefox start faster
By the way, tips and tricks about the new Firefox 3.5 in my blog also

teacher-firefox.de !

Since I am now well but slowly from my Maxthon browser to switch to Firefox, will occasionally here's a tip for people who change their browser and just ("old" rabbit-like Firefox simply skip these posts).
a) Start Firefox faster: It is sufficient if you as a startup parameter "/ prefetch: 1" attaches, so for example, created a link that reads like this: c: \ program files \ mozilla firefox \ firefox.exe / prefetch: 1
The starting rates are improved noticeably.
b) use tabs better: The Firefox extension "Tabbrowser Preferences" is available now for Firefox 1.0 ...

(Unlike other extensions here, an integration into the "normal" browser setting menu). You can adjust quite a lot of points - the most important thing for me links that would otherwise open a new window to be automatically displayed in a new tab. Above all I wanted, however, that the tabs open in the background, so I can read more on the real side, while several other pages are loaded. This also works.

c) close tab by double-clicking: Well, actually I would like to - close the tabs by right clicking once - just like Maxthon. But a double is also okay. In addition I have the extension "Tab Clicking Options" installed that already works well with the 1.0.

/ / PS: Firefox works faster to start with the parameter, at least from the second program call. Will there be there some day one version, which generally starts faster? And it makes a difference if you have many plugins installed?

Wow. I use Firefox for quite some time, but with the / prefetch I did not know really. The speed increase is really impressive.

Is indeed funny, and I always use Maxthon, formerly "MyIE2", and today more and more Firefox. Thanks for this tip. Loads really slowly. Let's see how it works!

Be entered under "target" must be exactly as follows (that first quote, the / prefetch then without):

    "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe" / prefetch: 1

If Windows will still report that the program is not found, then you have Firefox installed on a different path / to another disk.

I've typed exactly, but he still gives the message that he does not find it. But I have FF installed in that path for sure!
And he estimates the error message is automatically a C: \ in front of "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe" / prefetch: 1
What can it still be wrong?

I do not want to be nosy but try it some where you just use the function "link" the browse button in Windows. Then it is easy to add the / prefetch: 1
    and directly, läufts - I guess ... ;)

The / prefetch: 1 must simply be appended to the target and must not be between the quotes: "C: \ Program Files \ Mozilla Firefox \ firefox.exe" / prefetch: 1

achja extension and when I can recommend the

PCFreunde.de> Forums> Internet> Web Browser, Plug-ins> My Firefox starts to slow?

I changed the settings as suggested and actually achieved with a 800 MHz Pentium acceptable times (about 5 times faster)

There will be a preloader on the following page for Firefox, of these, such as M $ IE, already loads when Windows starts, it is therefore always immediately available.

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/ffpreloader/
