Firefox - Google search in address bar

B y the Maxthon browser I'm used to tap the Google search words directly into the URL address bar, since there is already the pointer anyway. In Firefox there (not always but often) the "good-luck" page is opened. For example, sometimes the word "men" ;-)
But in 99% of the cases I prefer the normal Google result pages ...

why do I now again perform an extra handle with the mouse in order in the small window above to get right. I have changed rapidly:

First Configuration file access by URL instead of "about: config" is entered in Firefox.
Second Enter into the filter line that now appears above, "keyword.URL".
Third There, the record overwrite with "http://www.google.de/search?ie=UTF-8&q ="
Finish.

    Hei

Great tip! Until today I was not aware that the scroll speed to low / low / short, or whatever is set. Thank you

A super tip! Thank you for this! For me, the whole was adjusted by the installation of ICQ, so getting the icq search was selected (total waste), and I thank the tips could be easily set everything back to google :)

And you can even replace the entry a little bit better, namely:
    http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q =

Then you end up, as if entering directly on the imdb imdb bruce willis Bruce Willis : D

This is again much better than the tip of xchylde, especially since you do not need bookmarks to imdb and is also the only input directly on the page. This saves at least one click again : P

@ Marcel: Up in the address bar (because otherwise you give, for example, "httpp :/ / spiegel.de" a) You write "about: config" (without quotes) and send it with "ENTER".

Hey, it helped me a lot, after it has written about it at my MSN about all sorts of ...
    :-)

  8. Very nice tip, thanks! I was the feature of Mozilla / Firefox used and found it annoying after upgrading to Firefox, that we now have an extra field for the search.

Meanwhile, I'm used to it but me, if I want to look something like this: CTRL + L, TAB, and I am in the search window. But you never know when you need it but once. I have it "gesoscialbookmarkt". :)

@ Birger: instead of CTRL + L and then press TAB, you can simply use CTRL + K, then you are directly in the search window.
