Emmi and Leo

E The book "Good against North Wind" by Daniel Glattauer I was indeed in recent weeks met frequently at meetings, but I did not really grasp it. In too bad memories, I still thin films such as "e-mail for you" or "The Net" from the 90's. Whatever the reason: On Pentecost, I played the audio book version on my nano - and lo and behold, the novel is really good indeed! More than that - the two speakers (Andrea Sawatzki and Christian Berkel) are outstanding. In particular, "Emmi" is so convincing that some acquaintance to me so vividly of the past before my eyes. In this case, I am firmly convinced that the audio book is clearly superior to the print edition.
But the content itself is also very convincing. A game between two "unknowns" who experience themselves solely through letters. I would not previously have thought that you can make those thoughts and feelings without explanatory "text between" understandable. And even that can be filled with such a theme throughout 375 minutes without getting bored (apart from a few lengths, which are forgivable). And it is to find smart ideas, such as - prearranged - meeting in a coffee shop one afternoon, without putting himself known (Leo had said he would be able to identify Emmi solely because of their words in any crowd ). Or the common drinking at midnight, everyone in his apartment, each at his monitor - something so many of us who have ever taken a long chat sessions behind.
A very nice, very humorous language is Glattauer well managed - and the trick to find an end to the "fit" - not easy in this matter.
