iPod Nano II 2. Generation II

kay, okay - since yesterday, Galeria Kaufhof in Ulm, the new Nanos ... and as I came by chance ... ;-) Sense, of course, only the 8GB model made since my previous PX Maxfield had indeed already 4 GB. The usual data - that he is extremely thin and light that it can also display images that work with iTunes, etc. - are so well known. Here, however, sometimes a very personal reasons why I have resorted to the new nano:

Since there is now a whole series of high-quality podcasts (especially from broadcasters) are, in particular, I wanted to use this area better. And the fact that cooperation between iTunes and the Nano is already perfect:

At the very clear display, I can not recall the title only, as usual, but also detailed descriptions of each podcast, which helps me a lot to the table.
In the scrubbing mode, I can precisely control individual bodies or skip - all with a tiny finger movement.
If I must interrupt the podcast, so I'm after turning at the exact spot where I left off. And this label is also in sync with the PC get so that I can continue listening to iTunes, for example, in the correct place and vice versa.
A so-called "smart playlist" bundled me to the Podcasts, automatically deletes already owned, provides updates, etc.
In the main menu of the Nanos I have next to the category "music" under "Podcasts", so I've got a summary. (Although I probably stay in a separate playlist, because I was so in the actual iTunes podcast section does not sync, but only part of the section of the list.)

Always been great with the iPod, I found the ultra-simple operation through the "Streichelrad". And that everything within reach due to the flash memory is in seconds, is a great feeling after the Maxfield-disk player. By the way, since yesterday from the iTunes version 7.01 out there, if anyone had probs with the 7.0.

    Hello,

I once had a question about itunes, can you tell me because velleicht say so what. I use my music to itunes only be carried out. I have import for not paying attention, I have the files most files as mp4, causing problems to permanent, if the music, for example, want to copy onto mobile (very annoying copy and then music-driven snow, because everything is double and therefore extremely confusing) na yes, I buy too much music on itunes and now I've noticed that I can convert files that do ncht! Is there a possibility?

And now to my real prob:
I want to set myself an mp3 player and vacillate between three models because, among other things I think about when sonty nwa 1000s. Can I play itunes files that actually on these players, or would that just the nano? I think the nano is indeed much finer than the sony, but sony has the same price 2GB more, and for such a car as my normal consumer, the argument is already a Kares!

Directly above you can play music purchased from iTunes only on iPods / nanos. Apple uses as a copy protection. But you can use iTunes to burn the songs onto a CD and get down from there as \ "normal \" mp3 (which is legal). These mp3 files then you can of course play on any player. If you take a rewritable CD, it is also a bit cheaper. However - it is time consuming. The tools that directly remove the copy protection (and are probably not legally) bring little benefit over time.

Basically, you can then also a play on Sony's iTunes-pieces - only you can decide how much bothers you the time needed for the conversion.

If you really have a lot of music, I would already move to another manager. iTunes is good to buy music for podcasts and well - but that's it then. Much better here MediaMonkey or Helium2006.

'm Excited about my own since March 4 GB Nano full. The jogging again brings it brings so much fun.
A few weeks ago I had to reformat my laptop. Then ran the cooperation is no longer with the iPod Nano. Everything tasted. I had downloaded the latest version of iTunes. All useless. A visit to a repair service from Apple brought the proof that the Nano was in order.
The last attempt. On the desktop, I had a much older version of iTunes. With which I have restored the nano, that is zurückgestzt to the default settings. Now he is running again?
    Has anyone had similar experiences?

Probably the largest and most active German-language forum for iPod themes is known as iPodFun to find. If I remember correctly, there are other users have reported a similar problem.

    Thanks for the tip.
I just looked at times known as iPodFun. There are a lot (5 pages) problems with the Nano. I'm at least not the only one. One solution I could not find it calming but at least something not to be the Unfortunately.

Well, the number of posts you need not worry leave. These are usually the same 3, 4 people who have just caught a bad model, and then frantically rumrotieren in the forums :-) Apart from that: in any case, try iTunes 7.01, if there were probs with 7.0. (When I ran way from the beginning of everything perfectly.)

Could you play on your iPod once the iPod media played back without problems on any other computer, and iTunes would not be necessary to use the things that I would have probably taken a long time. So I think it's stupid, because I do not want to support with my money, the development costs of copy protection, which I find absolutely anti-consumer. I paid but not my own prison.
The Sony Walkman is said to have poor sound. At chip.de, there's a leaderboard, because you can watch time.
    Well, just my € 0.02

Yes, I can understand that. Only once as an info: For working with iPods, there are several other options besides iTunes - except stand-alone tools such as Winamp and Media Monkey and for plug-ins have to offer. Even the dubbing to another machine should not be a real problem. But to these things I have not bothered, because I use iTunes either way for buying music.
